Girls ofvoronezh – A Book Review

“Memories of Velvet Roof” is the third novel I read by simply Anna Puck. This time, I did not have to locate a female impression on this storyline because it was clearly drafted for a male perspective. My spouse and i liked the descriptions of Vorkovia, especially its cobbled streets plus the knowledge that many people have come to understand it to be a city in transition. Puck’s character, Alexey, was interesting, funny and sensible; and I respected her decision to write regarding the place and not just focus on the life span of Alexey alone.

The story depends on Alexey, nowadays settled in Vorkovia, doing work as a drivers for a coach service. A female he met in school, Olga, calls him one day and invites him to meet her for lunch break. After a quick and delicious lunch, both the get to know the other person better and exchange products. Things improvement from there, until a girl requests Alexey to be her partner, and they the two go to a prom together.

The placing of this innovative is very pleasant. It starts out inside the typical urban areas of Vorkovia near St . Petersburg. They will walk a few blocks to a new building constructed within an ancient religious organization and spend the rest of the afternoon enjoying the sights, odours, and thoughts of the city. Another morning, simply because Anna is leaving, your lover spots a commotion in the entrance towards the park that catches her attention.

A desolate vagabond is usually living in the park. Anna approaches the homeless vagabond and asks him for what reason he possesses chosen to live in that particular spot. He explains to her the fact that the girl this individual lives with, Olga, uses her benefits to spend with regards to food, lodging and her daily new driver back and forth to varsity. In return, the vagabond will not let Olga use his benefits, that include helping out on the desolate shelter.

Anna makes a decision to visit Olga and discovers her chatting with another girl. Each of the girls are planning to join the “Free Movement” http://brides-ru.net/cities/voronezh-women which will aims to carry attention to the conditions in the country’s slums. Meanwhile, the “Free Movement” is conference in a recreation area for what they will call “concerts”. None of the women know that the concert is organized by Anna’s neighbors.

The following day, Anna chooses to investigate the “concert hall”. While she actually is inside, the woman meets Flotta, a middle-aged woman just who lives on a nearby streets. The two ladies strike up a conversation and find out that the live concert hall is being used to be a stash level for much illegitimate money. Using this information, Anna goes to the police and accounts the matter. The authorities are interested in seeking the owner of this property and set out to question Olga.
